The Way of the Mystic
Juliana Cesano
September 1-3, 2017 Friday dinner through Sunday lunch
One of Christianity’s most inspiring saints, Teresa of Avila, brought to the world, in a most unique way, the experience of the ecstatic love for God. The
journey within of this passionate mystic of the 16th century conveys with clarity and depth the path of surrendering the lower to the Higher. She became Saint John of the Cross’ mentor, but her work and
her writings guided so many after him. Neither illness nor the persecution of the Inquisition, were able to extinguish the inner fire of this courageous woman. During this weekend retreat we will reflect on the practical advice given by Teresa to all sincere seekers.
Juliana Cesano is a second generation theosophist and has been actively involved with the Society’s work for over twenty years. She volunteered two years at the international headquarters in Chennai, India, and has been part of the staff at the headquarters of the Theosophical Society in America for the last ten years. She is a certified yoga teacher, 200 CYT, and is currently the manager of the Quest Book Shop.
